Sigel resident Dillion Hille has pleaded guilty to a count of possession of a firearm and has been sentenced to probation plus fines.
The 18-year-old Hille was arrested last November for discharging a firearm off an interstate overpass. A motorist on the interstate notified Illinois State Police who arrested Hille after locating him later that evening.
Hille was originally charged with a felony count of aggravated discharge of a firearm. In court Thursday, he pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge of possessing the weapon in exchange for probation.
Hille must also make restitution of almost $9,000 for the incident. No one was injured in the incident.
