Area Counties and COVID Counts

The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting that Coles County and Shelby County Thursday each experienced a death of someone with COVID-19.

The person in Shelby County was a man in his 90s; Coles County has not shared details on the person who died.

Positive COVID-19 cases reported in area counties Thursday included 31 in Effingham County, 10 in Fayette County and in Cumberland County, nine in Jasper County, 40 in Coles County, five in Shelby County, and four in Clay County.
