Police Identify Body Found Near Trenton

Police have positively identified the body located near Trenton on August 28 as that of a Kentucky woman.

Late Thursday, officials with Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 have identified the body as that of 46-year-old Charity M. Greene of Harlan County, Kentucky.

The body was found in the ditch of the Illinois Route 160 on-ramp to US Route 50 westbound near Trenton. An autopsy was completed on Saturday to determine the official cause of death with final results still pending.

Zone 8 investigators continue to lead the death investigation and are requesting information from the public regarding Greene's whereabouts leading up to the discovery of her body.
