Cumberland School Board Approves School Schedule Plan

Every school district has had to weigh various options as far as the school year in this COVID year, including when they will meet.

The Cumberland school board met earlier this month to discuss the issue, and received input from district residents.

The final result was as follows: Grades K-4 will utilize the Blue Gold hybrid attendance model through September 11, then go to full attendance Monday through Thursday beginning September 14. Grades 5-8 will continue on the Blue Gold hybrid model through September 25, then go to full attendance Monday through Thursday beginning September 28. Grades 9-12 will be on Blue Gold hybrid attendance through October 9, then to go full attendance Monday through Thursday beginning October 13.

All Cumberland students will remain learning remotely on Fridays, and daily dismissal times will be 2pm through the first semester.

The Board voted to approve the plan 6-1.
