Fatal Motorcycle Crash in County Sunday

A Pawnee man was fatally injured in a motorcycle crash in Effingham County Sunday afternoon.

The name of the 54-year-old man is to be released today by the Sangamon County Coroner's Office.

The crash happened at 5:29pm on Illinois Route 128, 1-1/4 miles north of Illinois Route 33 outside Beecher City. State police report the cycle ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch. The driver was ejected as the motorcycle flipped over. 

The man was airlifted to a regional hospital where he died.
