Earlier, we posted a story on several cost-cutting moves approved Monday night by the Teutopolis Board of Education.  Here's a look at other action taken by the Board Monday:

The Board agreed to advertise for a six-hour cook at the grade school for next school year; hired Sharon Wallace, Josh Cottrill, Terri Heuerman, Cheryl McLeod, Dan Blankenship and Tess Borries to work as summer help; and approved student teacher Olivia Klaus to help with boys and girls high school track, Ron Cowman with high school girls softball, and Ben Siemer with high school athletics.

The Board also approved Austin Robinson as frosh/soph boys spring baseball coach, and Whitney Pruemer as junior high cheerleading sponsor.

Board members agreed to continue alternative education through the Regional Office of Education and amended the school year due to a recent snow day to hold junior high promotion on Thursday, May 16 and a teacher institute on Friday, May 17.

Some other approved cuts not mentioned earlier: no substitutes for the Unit Curriculum Committee; no Diversified Occupations workers; no staff lunches on Teacher Institute days; reduce the Technology and Library line items each by $5,000; no expenses for overnight travel for conferences and workshops; eliminating the high school postage meter; no reimbursement of meals at conferences and workshops; and reduce miscellaneous travel for conferences, meetings and scouting.
