Illinois US Senate candidate Mark Curran was in Effingham Wednesday, making himself known and sharing why is making the Senate run.

Curran, a 12-year Lake County sheriff, is the Republican nominee for Senate, taking on longtime Democrat incumbent Dick Durbin in November.
