St. Elmo School Board Approves Teacher Contract

The St. Elmo Board of Education Monday approved a contract with members of the St. Elmo Education Association, which represents teachers in the district.

The Board acted on several personnel matters; accepting the resignation of Pre-K teacher Rachel Hicks, approving Abby Durbin as volunteer assistant junior high cheerleading sponsor, and employing Charles Smith as full-time temporary bus driver and Jim Giffin as substitute bus driver.

The tentative fiscal year was adopted with final action expected at the Board's September meeting, and revised board policies were approved for first reading.

The Board also approved salaries for bookkeeper, treasurer and maintenance supervisor for the coming school year.
