An Effingham teenager has been sentenced to 180 days in jail for burglary, while theft charges against him were dismissed.

18-year-old Joshua Burger pleaded guilty Thursday to the burglary count. In addition to the jail time, Burger must pay $100 plus assessments.

Burger had earlier this year pleaded guilty to five vehicle burglaries and was placed on probation. He was also given credit for time spent in jail awaiting disposition of his case.

Effingham County State's Attorney Bryan Kibler stated at an earlier hearing that Burger had just turned 18 in March, but had already been arrested three times.
