Two individuals were injured when a boat in which they were traveling struck a dock early Saturday morning on Lake Sara.

Effingham Water Authority Lake Sara Superintendent Mike Dirks said the incident occurred about 3am. Lake residents said the incident occurred in the Shumway Cove area of the lake.

Dirks said the boat capsized, but said the occupants of the boat suffered only minor injuries.

We don't have the names of those involved yet; Dirks was out of town when he returned our call. He said Illinois Department of Natural Resources officer Paul Smith handled a lot of the crash investigation. We have a call into him.
