Vicki Yocum Day Celebrated Friday in Effingham

Vicki Yocum Day was celebrated Friday in Effingham, as she was chosen the 2020 Employee of the Year by the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce.

Vicki is the branch manager at the Effingham Land of Lincoln Credit Union location and has worked for Land of Lincoln for 15 years. Yocum was termed a "fair, consistent and steadying presence". Asked for her emotions when it was announced she was being honored, Yocum said, "Surprised, excited, thankful". 

The other nominees were Barbara Butterson of Patton Printing and Graphics, Gene Henderson of B&B Homes, and Sherri Wohltman of Orr Law. On hand to make the award presentation and declare Friday as Vicki Yocum Day in Effingham was Effingham City Administrator Steve Miller, standing in for Mayor Mike Schutzbach.

This the 46th year the Chamber has selected an employee of the year.

Motivational speaker and coach Teresa McCloy served as guest speaker for Friday's luncheon.
