The hearing on St. Rep. Darren Bailey's request for a contempt citation against Governor J.B. Pritzker will take place next Friday, August 14. The hearing will begin at 1pm at Clay County Courthouse in Louisville.

Representative Bailey's attorney, Thomas DeVore of Greenville, filed the petition for contempt on Wednesday, alleging that Pritzker was wrong in his issuance of emergency orders regarding COVID-19 since Judge Michael McHaney's ruling July 2 that Pritzker had already overstepped his authority.

The petition asks that Pritzker either rescind the orders issued since the judge's ruling, or that he be held in Clay County Jail in Louisville until he does rescind them.
