955 New Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in Illinois Announced Tuesday

The number of new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease announced Tuesday in Illinois fell below 1,000.
Along with the 955 cases of the disease, 23 additional deaths were confirmed in the state.
Effingham County Health Department Monday was reporting 47 positive cases since reporting began. Of 3,712 people tested, 3,665 cases came back negative. 14 people are in isolation, and 31 people have recovered. One death is reported, and one person listed as unrecovered, that is their death occurred while COVID positive, but that was not the cause of the person's death.
As far as area counties and their totals: Shelby--30; Coles--255; Cumberland--37; Jasper--49; Clay--9; and Fayette--39.
The percentage of positive tests as a percentage of total tests administered in the past seven days statewide is now at 3.1%.
