Washington Savings Bank President and CEO Claude E. Hudson announces the bank will be collecting non-perishable food items to benefit area food pantries in an effort to Pack the Pantries.
Food donations will be accepted from March 11 to March 15 at the bank’s two locations at 200 S. Banker St. and at 1300 N. Keller Drive and can be dropped off during lobby hours, which are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
“More and more families are turning to local food pantries for help, and as a result, local food pantries are in desperate need of food supplies,” said Hudson. “We would like to lend a hand of support through this food drive.”
The food drive is just one of the many Random Acts of Kindness the bank will be initiating this year as part of its 130 Random Acts of Kindness campaign. Through the campaign, the bank will be spreading acts of kindness throughout the community and invite residents “to join in and pass it on” by doing their own Random Acts of Kindness.
“We hope everyone will join us in helping our neighbors, helping our community, and helping those in need. By working together, we can better our community,” said Hudson.
