Authorities have busted a meth lab in Effingham.
The lab was located at 200 W. St. Louis. After obtaining a search warrant, Effingham City Police executed the warrant around 6am Friday with the assistance of the Illinois State Police Tactical Team as well as the Illinois Meth Response Team. Police said "items consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine were recovered from inside the residence."
Three people found inside the home at the time of the bust were arrested. Those arrested are 22-year-old Kyle W. Sinkler of Effingham on a count of aggravated participation in meth manufacturing, 23-year-old Storey M. Woodruff of Effingham on a count of possession of meth manufacturing material, and 45-year-old Kimberly S. Sinkler of Effingham on a count of possession of meth precursors.
Tony Stephens of the Effingham City Police Department's Investigations Section Friday said they have been working on the case for "quite a while." After receiving information about the meth lab, the Investigations Section worked with the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force to develop the case and then obtained the search warrant.
Asked whether further arrests might occur, Stephens said authorities are still investigating the matter.
