Scam Artist Foiled During Call to Local Resident

A scam artist was unsuccessful when he phoned a local resident Wednesday.

The person who was called contacted us to encourage others to watch out for the scam. He said the scam artist told the local resident his "good record" qualified him for a $9,000 grant from the IRS. The local resident then was to phone a business to get some additional items to obtain the money. Instead, the local resident wisely hung up.
