980 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Wednesday in Illinois

The Illinois Department of Public Health Wednesday announced 980 new cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois. IDPH reported 36 COVID-related deaths statewide. 

Almost 33,000 specimens were reported by laboratories for the 24-hour period ending at 2pm Wednesday. Just 2.6% of the specimens collected over the past seven days returned as positive cases.
