Teutopolis school board members Monday acted on some modifications to the high school renovation project.

The Board approved a change order for Phase II construction to include modifications to the Band Room. Work will be completed by L.J. Swingler and Sons at a quoted cost of $25,183.70. The changes are designed to control the acoustics in the band room.

The Board, though, denied a change order that would have included a sprinkler system and associated plumbing work and related cost that would have been related to new construction of a weight room. Board members are instead considering relocating the weight room to the Study Hall Room, with students going to either the Media Center or the Cafeteria for Study Hall.

In other business, the Teutopolis Board discussed the updating plans for the reopening of schools. The Board also approved a wage or salary increase for the non-union Athletic Director position for the coming school year, held by Laurie Thompson. Also approved was employing high school principal Greg Beck as a behind-the-wheel driver's ed instructor for this summer.
