Attempted Murder, Aggravated Domestic Battery Counts Filed Against Sigrist

Charges of attempted murder and aggravated domestic battery have been filed against Edgewood resident Mark Sigrist.

The charges stem from an altercation at a home in Edgewood on Monday afternoon.

Sigrist is accused of critically injuring an 80-year-old Edgewood woman and her 83-year-old husband. They are both hospitalized, as is Sigrist. 

Effingham County State's Attorney Bryan Kibler said Sigrist is expected to be available to make a court appearance on Thursday, where he will be formally charged.
