An Effingham County sheriff's deputy was injured in a three-vehicle collision in Effingham Saturday.

Effingham County Chief Deputy Sheriff Paul Kuhns said the deputy was heading into the city to assist with a report of a person with a gun. En route, the squad car collided with another vehicle. The impact pushed the squad car into another vehicle.

The deputy, whose name will be released once all of the reports are completed, was examined at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, then released. Neither of the other drivers involved was injured.

The report of a person with a gun was not accurate.
