State Department of Corrections Employee Arrested

The Illinois State Police Division of Internal Investigation has arrested an Illinois Department of Corrections employee on counts of custodial sexual misconduct and official misconduct.

30-year-old Daniel Lara of Springfield was arrested Thursday following an allegation by the Department of Corrections on Wednesday of custodial sexual misconduct by Lara. He was charged Thursday by Logan County State's Attorney Bradley Hauge.

Lara was being held at the Logan County Jail Friday afternoon awaiting a bond hearing.
