The Illinois Department of Public Health Thursday reported 894 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in the state. The numbers include 41 additional confirmed deaths, 23 of which occurred in Cook County.

There were no new confirmed cases on COVID-19 in area counties, and IDPH figures now conform with Effingham County numbers that 11 positive cases have been identified in the county.

Within the 24-hour period ending at 2pm Thursday, laboratories have reported 31,686 specimens. The premiminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total tests is 3%.

The numbers come as Illinois moves to Phase 4 of the "Restore Illinois" plan for the state on Friday.
