Indiana Woman Injured in Crash North of Effingham

A North Judson, Indiana woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident north of Effingham.

Effingham Fire Chief Bob Tutko reported the woman was traveling northbound on I-57 near Sigel when she attempted to pass a semi and lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle skidded back across the highway to the right and ended up in the ditch. 

Tutko said a passerby pulled the woman's car out of the ditch before authorities reached the scene. The woman was examined at the scene by Abbott EMS personnel, but was not taken for treatment. 

Effingham firefighters were assisted by the Effingham County Sheriff's Department.
