South Central school board members heard details at this month's meeting about the upcoming drive-in graduation ceremonies, set for June 26.

Superintendent Kerry Herdes said information will be sent out in the very near future. All ceremonies will be held at South Central High School in Farina.

The Board hired Donna Horath as an assistant bookkeeper; hired Alex Phillips as a Special Education teacher for the coming school year; hired Megan Murphree as head high school volleyball coach; and acted on pay for the coming school year.

The Board approved the pay scale for support staffers and substitute teacher rates, effective July 1; approved raises for certified personnel covered by the teachers contract for the coming school year; approved raises for non-certified personnel covered by the support staff federation contract for the coming school year; and approved raises for all administrators and non-union ESP personnel and support staff for the coming year per the salary proposal sheet.

South Central board members also approved a four-year contract extension for Herdes, and all building principals to June 30, 2025.

The Board approved a budget for the coming fiscal year with an overall updated deficit of just over $67,000, reflecting income and expenses; and also hired Robbins-Schwartz as school attorneys.
