593 New Coronavirus Disease Cases Reported Thursday in Illinois

593 new cases of coronavirus disease were reported in Illinois Thursday. The Illinois Department of Public Health said there were 55 additional confirmed deaths statewide, 31 of those in Cook County.

We told you earlier about three new positive cases in Effingham County. The three are recuperating at home and health officials have already spoken with everyone who has been in contact with them.

The Clay County Health Department is reporting its third positive case overall, a female in her teens. The teen is recuperating at home in isolation. She reported to health officials she has had no known contact with someone with the COVID-19 disease.

The seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total tests is 3%.
