Matters of bond and restitution have been settled in the case of Derrick Kuhlman of Mode.

(KUHLMAN)

The 43-year-old Kuhlman pleaded guilty in May to a count of residential arson and was sentenced to 11 years in prison. The charge stemmed from setting fire to a house in Shumway in January. As part of the negotiated plea, three other felony charges including stalking, aggravated domestic battery, and possession of a stolen firearm, along with two misdemeanor counts were dismissed. The bonds posted in all of those cases were transferred to the arson case.

During the hearing, a portion of the bond was awarded to Kuhlman's attorney, Ed Deters, as payment for his services. Judge Allan Lolie then ordered restitution to other victims, starting with Faith Lutheran Church in Shumway.

Kuhlman will be on two years' mandatory supervised release once he's out of prison.
