Neoga School Board Gets Update on Sports Practices

Neoga school board members Thursday were updated on in-person summer school and athletic workouts. The IHSA has announced plans for non sports specific workouts at this point, with a further review by month's end. The IHSA got permission from the Illinois Department of Public Health before okaying workouts at this point for Neoga and other school district athletes.

The Neoga board reviewed the Neoga Backpack Ministry involving food for kids during the summer months; approved a contract with School Psychologist Christy Elder for the coming school year; and approved Swimming and Bass Fishing programs for the coming school year. as well as a YMCA After-School Program.

Neoga board members accepted resignations from Christian Kessler as high school assistant fall and spring baseball coach and from Julie Fritcher as high school assistant volleyball coach.

The Board employed Molly Verdeyen as paraprofessional and these Summer School teachers--Elaine Brandenburg, Amy Westjohn, Amy Kepp, Jamie Martin, Steve McCann, Amy Brown and Kim Romack.
