625 New COVID-19 Cases in Illinois

The Illinois Department of Public Health Wednesday reported 625 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in the state.

78 confirmed deaths statewide were reported, 44 of those deaths in Cook County. None of the deaths occurred in any area counties.

Fayette County reported its 22nd positive COVID-19 case Wednesday, a woman in her 50s. Coles County reported two additional positive cases, bringing the county's total to 142.

More than 20,000 lab specimens were reported Wednesday. The seven-day statewide positivity rate is 4%.
