Mattoon Man Arrested on Six Child Pornography Charges

A Mattoon man has been arrested on six counts of possession of child pornography, as well as failure to register as a sex offender.

Mattoon police arrested 42-year-old Jimmy S. Derixson following an investigation that began May 21. A tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alleged Derixson had uploaded child pornography. Derixson was located on June 3, at which time his cell phone was seized as part of a court ordered search warrant. Derixson admitted the cell phone was his, along with a Google account, which he was supposed to register as part of sex offender compliance, however he had not.

A search of the cell phone revealed images of child pornography. 

Derixson was taken to Coles County Jail.
