The Effingham City Plan Commission will meet Tuesday using social distancing guidelines.

The meeting will be conducted on Zoom, but City personnel will be present at City Hall. Meeting time is 6pm.

The Commission plans to conduct four public hearings. If people want to attend at City Hall, they are asked to use face coverings. If they want to participate remotely, they are asked to contact City Planner Greg Koester at 821-7731 or gkoester@effinghamil.com

One hearing concerns rezoning 10420 and 10446 E. Kingwood Drive from R-1 single-family residential to R-2 single-family residential. A R-2 designation allows smaller lot sizes.

Another hearing is on annexing property north of the interstate between Charlotte Street and 4th Street that is currently part of D&A Farms.

A third hearing is to vacate a portion of Luther Street, north of Hillside Drive. The roadway is bordered by Hillside Apartments on the east and St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery on the west.

The fourth hearing is to vacate an alley east of 308 E. Eiche between Eiche and Wernsing.

You can view the petitions and a description of the property on the City website at www.effinghamil.com
