929 Positive COVID-19 Cases Reported Thursday

Thursday saw the third day in four this week that the number of positive COVID-19 cases was below 1,000.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 929 new cases. The figures included 116 additional confirmed deaths, 66 of those in Cook County. There were 15 deaths in Lake County.
The death of a female in her 80s was reported in Coles County. There've been 129 positive cases in that county, and 17 deaths connected to COVID-19.
There were no additional positive COVID-19 cases reported in any other area county on Thursday.
Laboratories reported 22,841 specimens in the past 24 hours. The statewide positivity rate for the seven-day period through Wednesday was 6%.
