1,614 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Tuesday in Illinois

The Illinois Department of Public Health Tuesday announced 1,614 new cases of coronavirus disease in the state. The report included 113 additional deaths, 67 in Cook County. There were 15 deaths reported in Lake County.

The Coles County Health Department has reported a COVID-19 related death, the 16th reported in the county.

There have now been 129 positive cases in Coles County, with five currently hospitalized, 64 recovered, and 44 recovering.

To date, the total cases associated with Charleston Rehab and Healthcare is 81 confirmed cases, including residents and employees.

Other area counties: 

Effingham--seven positive cases, with one death

Clay--two, with no deaths

Cumberland--10 cases, with no deaths

Jasper--46 positive cases, with seven deaths

Fayette--21 positive cases, with three deaths

Shelby--16 positive cases, with one death

Just over 16,000 specimens were collected at state laboratories. The seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percentage of total tests is 7%.
