Guilty Plea in Clay County to Child Pornography

A Centralia man has received prison time after pleading guilty in Clay County Friday to possession with intent to disseminate child pornography.

30-year-old Steven R. Jackson was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the Class X felony, with a mandatory supervised release period of three years to life.

Clay County State's Attorney Andrew Koester said, "Violation of child pornography laws, whether it be possession, production, or disseminationof child pornography, is heinous and preys upon the most vulnerable and innocent among us. Let the message be clear: this will not be tolerated."

The investigation was conducted by the Illinois State Police Zone 7 Division of Criminal Investigations. Koester praised the State Police investigators for their professionalism and diligence throughout the investigation.
