IDPH Friday Announces 1,622 New Positive COVID-19 Cases; 86 Additional Deaths

The Illinois Department of Public Health Friday reported 1,622 new cases of coronavirus disease. 86 additional deaths related to the disease were announced.
Coles County reported the death of a woman in her 60s to bring the number of positive cases there to 125 and the number of deaths there to 14.
Edgar County recorded its first positive COVID-19 case Friday.
As far as Effingham and surrounding counties and their numbers:
Effingham--seven, with one death
Clay--two, and no deaths
Shelby--16, and one death
Cumberland--10, and no deaths
Jasper--45, and seven deaths
Fayette--20, with three deaths
More than 25,500 specimens were reported by state laboratories in the past 24-hour period. The seven-day statewide positivity is 8%.
