1,527 New Cases of Coronavirus Disease Reported Thursday in Illinois

The Illinois Department of Public Health Thursday announced 1,527 new cases of coronavirus disease in the 24-hour period ending at 2pm.

The report notes 104 additional deaths, 68 in Cook County.

One death was reported in Coles County, a man in his 80s. That brings the COVID-19 related deaths in Coles County to 13 and the number of positive cases to 123. Nine people are still hospitalized.

There are no other changes in area counties.

Almost 26,000 specimens have been reported to state laboratories for the past 24-hour period. The seven-day statewide positivity is 8.3%.
