First Defendant in November Home Invasion Pleads Guilty

The first of four defendants in a November home invasion in Effingham has pleaded guilty.

20-year-old Austin Phelps of Montrose pled guilty Thursday to a felony count of residential burglary. Phelps was accused of entering a residence, stealing items, and threatening the occupants at the residence.

In exchange for the guilty plea, Phelps was placed on two years probation, ordered to undergo substance abuse treatment, pay a fine and make resttitution for what was stolen in the incident.

Three other defendants...Noah Rebollo, Caillou Repp and Zion Mace, all of Effingham...are still awaiting disposition of their cases.
