Effingham County CEO has announced Camryn Crowell and Sam Thompson as Entrepreneurs of the Year.

The recipients are both seniors at Effingham High School.

Each year the class nominates an entrepreneur of the year. The nominations are based on considering the key characteristics of the CEO Program:

--make sure our partners (guests and speakers) are welcomed and involved

--asks good questions

--are curious and willing to learn

--accept opinions and ideas from others without judgment

--excel as an individual, and we succeed as a class

--do what they say they'll do, and do it well

--under-promise and over-deliver

Additionally, involvement with the Class Business and the development of their personal business is considered.

In addition, Thompson was the recipient of the John H. Schultz Scholarship. The award was created in memory of John H. Schultz, an Effingham-area entrepreneur and businessman. The scholarship was created by the children of John and Fran Schultz and is a $1,000 scholarship awarded annually.
