Topsoil moisture supply was rated at 53 percent adequate, and 47 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated at 1 percent short, 59 percent adequate, and 40 percent surplus.

Corn planted reached 89 percent compared to the previous year at 32 percent and the 5-year average of 82 percent. Corn emerged reached 66 percent compared to the previous year at 17 percent and the 5-year average of 69 percent. Corn condition was rated at 2 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 38 percent fair, 46 percent good, and 9 percent excellent.
