Details on Monday Crash in Effingham w/Injuries

Effingham city police have released details on a crash Monday afternoon at Banker and Eiche where two people were injured.

The crash happened at 4pm when a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Austin Smith of Effingham turned into the path of, and struck a vehicle driven by, 39-year-old Daona Poe of Watson.

Passengers in Smith's vehicle, 18-year-old Courtney Rhodes of Altamont and 17-year-old Isaac Pizanowski of Effingham, were injured and were transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Smith was cited for failure to yield and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
