3,239 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Thursday

The Illinois Department of Pubilc Health Thursday reported 3,239 new cases of coronavirus disease in the state. IDPH reported 138 additional deaths.

88 of those deaths were from Cook County.

Two deaths were reported from Coles County, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 80s. There have been 62 positive cases of COVID-19 reported to date in Coles County, as well as four total deaths.

Other area counties:

Effingham County--six positive cases, one death

Fayette County--17 positive cases, two deaths

Shelby County--11 positive cases, one death

Cumberland County--eight positive cases, no deaths

Jasper County--45 positive cases, seven deaths

IDPH is reporting a total of 87,937 cases, including 3,928 deaths in 99 counties in Illinois. 22,678 specimens have been reported by laboratories in the 24-hour period ending at 2pm Thursday.

Meanwhile, during his daily press briefing, Pritzker responded to a question about how he would respond to those who disobey his order. Pritzker said there would be consequences; referring to state licensing and pulling those licenses, as well as those following the order will get funding and those that don't, won't.
