The Effingham City Plan Commission Tuesday voted to recommend the City Council approve a rezoning request and two subdivision plats.

The rezoning would involve part of 407 North Henrietta and 408 North Keller Drive. The properties would be rezoned from single-family residential to general commercial status and are related to a planned expansion of Effingham Veterinary Clinic. The portion of 407 North Henrietta involved is basically some of the back yard of a single-family residence along Henrietta.

The subdivision plats would accommodate a new home for I-70 Truck Center, which plans to relocate from East Rickelman Avenue to North US 45, and the expanded Effingham Vet Clinic.

Commission members also re-elected Brian Hayes as their chairman for a one-year term.
