Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker says an updated model now shows coronavirus disease cases peaking from mid-May into mid-June. The previous model predicted peaking between late April and early May.

The governor's office says daily death and hospital capacity data over the course of the last two and a half weeks led to the updated predictions.

The report shows hospital bed and ventilator capacity remains sufficient to treat COVID-19 patients.
