Fayette County Coroner Dave Harris and his office have been busy this week.

On Sunday evening, Harris responded to a local nursing home due to the death of a recently-admitted patient.

On Monday evening, Harris responded to a residence south of Brownstown regarding an in-home death.

Early Wednesday morning, Harris responded to a residence in Vandalia due to the death of a 29-year-old man. An autopsy was performed Thursday morning at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Harris said, at this time, no further information is being released pending autopsy results and further investigation.

At about 6pm Thursday, Harris responded to a farm-related accidental death several miles southwest of Ramsey. The Fayette County Coroner's Office reported that 70-year-old Leon P. Matzger of Vandalia was the person killed in the grain bin accident.
