(ST. REP. DARREN BAILEY AND HIS LEGISLATIVE ASSISTANT JOSE DURBIN WITH THE 300 FACE SHIELDS AT THE LOUISVILLE DISTRICT OFFICE)

A story from State Representative Darren Bailey about a public-private partnership to obtain face masks for a state agency.

Bailey received a call about obtaining face shields for the agency. He contacted North American Lighting in Flora, but the company was unable to acquire the PPE in a timely manner. A company official, though, mentioned that John Deere is also making face shields. Bailey then phoned a personal friend, Bill Reichman, owner of the John Deere dealership in Okawville. Reichman contacted his division manager, who contacted John Deere headquarters in Moline. A week later, 300 needed masks showed up at the representative's district office in Louisville.

Bailey said, "This is another example of the public-private partnerships that happen in our community without the need of a law or regulation to do the right thing. The state agency in this instance provides public safety and security services and asked to remain anonymous, but are very appreciative of the quick response for the help. I'd like to say Thank You to John Deere!"
