2,450 New Positive COVID-19 Cases Announced Saturday

The Illinois Department of Public Health Saturday announced 2,450 new cases of coronavirus disease in the state.
The announcement included 105 additional deaths statewide.
71 of the deaths occurred in Cook County. 14 of the deaths occurred in DuPage County.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 58,505 cases, including 2,559 deaths, in 97 counties in Illinois. Within the 24-hour period ending at 2pm Saturday, laboratories have processed 15,208 specimens.
To date, in area counties, there have been 45 positive cases in Jasper County, 10 in Shelby County, three in Cumberland County, two in Clay County, 16 in Fayette County, and six in Effingham County.
