Two Arrests Made Related to Death of Kimberly Mattingly

Two arrests have been made related to the death of Kimberly Mattingly.
The 29-year-old Mattingly has been missing since April 5. Her body was discovered Wednesday in rural Beecher City.

As the result of an investigation by the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation, a warrant for the arrest of 36-year-old Christopher G. Glass of Mason was obtained through the Effingham County State's Attorney's Office for two counts of first degree murder, concealment of homicidal death, and a parole violation from the Illinois Department of Corrections. Glass was taken into custody early Thursday morning by the Indiana State Police and the Terre Haute Police Department and has been returned to Effingham County. He is now in jail here under $5 million bond.

Additionally, 37-year-old Aaron M. Kaiser of Beecher City was arrested and charged with concealment of homicidal death. Kaiser is being held in Effingham County Jail pending a bond hearing.
If convicted, Glass could be sentenced to from 20 to 60 years, up to life, in prison. If convicted of concealment of homicidal death, each defendant could be sentenced to up to two to five years in prison.
Kaiser's initial appearance will be today.
An autopsy will be conducted at 8am today in Bloomington to officially determine the cause of Mattingly's death.
The Illinois State Police DCI was assisted by multiple law enforcement agencies during the course of the investigation including the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Edgar County Sheriff's Office, Effingham County Sheriff's Office, Paris Police Department, Edgar County Sheriff's Office, Indiana State Police and Terre Haute Police Department.
The matter is an ongoing investigation by the Effingham County Coroner's Office, Effingham County State's Attorney's Office, and the Illinois State Police.
