The Illinois Department of Public Health Wednesday reported its largest one-day total of positive COVID-19 cases in Illinois.

2,049 new cases were reported. 98 additional deaths were reported statewide.

69 deaths of the deaths occurred in Cook County. There were six deaths in DuPage County; five deaths in Will County; four deaths in Kane County; three deaths in Madison County; two deaths in Lake and McHenry Counties; and one death each in Jefferson, Kankakee, Kendall, Macon, Monroe, Rock Island and St. Clair Counties.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 35,108 cases, including 1,565 deaths, in 96 counties in Illinois.
