Hospital Sisters Health System, which operates HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham and a number of other hospitals in Illinois and Wisconsin, has announced a reduction of their workforce as part of a restructuring.

According to a statement from HSHS Vice President of Advocacy and Communications Catie Sheehan, "Hospital Sisters Health System recently announced a reduction of less than 1% of our workforce as part of our 2020 move to a statewide structure in Illinois and Wisconsin, operating as HSHS Illinois and HSHS Wisconsin, respectively."

Sheehan said, "Some of these reductions include vacant positions that will remain unfilled and others that will impact colleagues in functional and administrative roles. This new structure will allow us to be more efficient and effective given the overlapping services in our markets. We continue to strive to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients and our communities, especially in this time of great need."

Hospital Sisters Health System has 15 hospitals between Illinois and Wisconsin and fully owns two Illinois-based physician groups: Prairie Cardiovascular Consultants and HSHS Medical Group."
