A Texas trucker was injured in a crash late Friday night south of Effingham.
The crash happened at 10:30pm on I-57, about five miles south of the south tri-level.
State police report the rig was southbound when it ran off the roadway to the left, and struck a bridge support structure in the median. The driver, 36-year-old Farhaan Hirsi of Ft. Worth, was transported to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Hirsi was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash and for improper lane usage.
