1,842 New Cases of Coronavirus Disease Reported Friday

The Illinois Department of Public Health Friday announced 1,842 new cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois. That is the largest one-day total of cases reported in the state since the pandemic began. 62 additional deaths were reported.
37 of the deaths occurred in Cook County. There were nine deaths in DuPage County, three deaths in Kane and St. Clair counties, two deaths in Will, Macon and Madison counties, and one death each in Boone, Lake, Monroe and Randolph counties.
Henderson and Wayne counties are now reporting cases. Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 27,575 cases, including 1,134 deaths, in 92 counties in Illinois.
